AboutLara Schneider is a UI/UX Designer and Game Artist with 27 years of experience in the gaming industry. She also owns and operates her own photography business, Lara Schneider Photography.
Born in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Lara now resides in Seattle, WA, where she constantly draws upon daily experience to push creative pursuits. Her personal intention is to continue growing and achieving as a designer, while maintaining the freedom to hone her other creative passions, photography, gardening, DJ'ing and travel. A little history: Lara moved to the United States in 1997, right after completing the Vancouver Film School's classical animation course. Her first experience working in games was as a 2D animator for KnowWonder, a.k.a. Amaze Entertainment. She then moved on to Humongous Entertainment, where she worked for 4 years on popular children's adventure titles such as Pajama Sam, Blue's Clues, and Backyard Baseball. Along the way, she has contracted with companies such as Sucker Punch and TeachTown, an organization specializing in online therapy programs for kids with autism. For 14.5 years, Lara had been focusing on Game Art and UI at Big Fish Games. Just days after a large layoff at Big Fish in September 2020, she jumped into another UI Artist role at local start-up Rewardify.com, working on a smaller team building user interface for Words to Win and Lucky Match. In January 2021, she started full time at kid’s educational game company, Age of Learning, working remotely as an Experience Designer III on Adventure Academy and My Reading Academy. She is currently a full time UI Designer at Flowplay, Inc. Remaining agile and flowing comfortably from project to project is what Lara excels at, and she's always curious to learn as much as she can in the process.
