Lara began creating scenes for Big Fish Games using Adobe Photoshop for compositing. As the hidden object genre evolved, her workflow shifted to building scene bases in Autodesk Maya and finishing them with detailed paint overs in Photoshop. She frequently incorporated real-world textures using clipart and original photography to enhance realism and depth.​
